Position Summary:
The Warehouse Distribution manages the process and employees within the warehouse and those working in distribution. This individual ensures that shipments to Blake’s Lotaburger are received and stored correctly as well as make sure orders are accurately filled and shipped to the stores and to our outside customers. This individual handles, manages and maintains our fleet vehicles to keep the business running smoothly. The position reports directly to the Director of Internal Operations.
Essential Functions:
· Must exemplify Blake’s Lotaburger Core Values of Kind, Team, Passion, Process in all responsibilities and interactions.
· Ensure that safety programs and training are in place for all warehouse personnel
· Manage warehouse operations
· Control receiving procedures of inbound freight and check for accuracy
· Rotation and safe handling procedures for all dated or perishable products
· Work closely with the HR Department for recruitment and approve department hiring
· Maintain training records for Equipment Safety Training
· Provide ongoing training to employees in the areas they work
· Manage outside storage and ensure accurate records
· Regularly review storage and maximize usage of space
· Regularly review outside storage needs and keep accurate product movement records on outside storage/items
· Review and adjust storage locations on all warehouse items to ensure the best use of available space
· Set annual vacation schedules and assign vacations
· Review employee timecards and submit approved hours to payroll
· Direct inbound drivers and receiving inbound loads (loads may be accepted and/or refused)
· Control damages and shorts on inbound loads
· Make sure that proper P.O.’s are attached to inbound paperwork
· Confirm accurate counts on both BOL and PO’s
· Make sure to note any changes that are made to inbound loads
· Create paperwork for inbound and outbound deliveries
· Prepare routes, invoices and pick tickets
· Monitor man hours
· Maintain a safe work environment
· Set and monitor productivity standards
Qualifications/Requirements (Education/Training/Experience/Abilities):
· Prior experience in food service industry is required
· Must be neat and clean in appearance
· Basic computer skills i.e., Microsoft Office
· Knowledge in DOT regulations
· Background in management including recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations
· Knowledge of food service and food safety regulations
· Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
· Knowledge of warehouse inventory and software systems and processes
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
· Must have Forklift/Pallet Jack Certification
· Strong problem solving and communication skills.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and MVR check.
Essential Physical/Emotional Requirements:
· Must possess a polite and friendly attitude.
· Ability to move/lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
· The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to talk and hear.
· Must be able to climb, bend and stoop.
· Ability to multitask and work under stressful conditions and tolerate a reasonable amount of stress.
· Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations using tactful, appropriate, and effective communication.
